| For transparent GIF go to the Offical TP thread and Izzy another member will do it for you, unless you can do it yourself then you could help out on that thread and do your own. If you are considering making a custom avatar you will need MS Paint or Photoshop or any other Home Painting system and try a stencil or outline from an exsisting avatar. I learnt some of what I know from Injokester. Try doing the outline in a floureescent colour? Bright green or red. Then fill in with the appropiraite/correct colours and shade in. When you feel it is completed you must save it as WHATEVER.gif This is only a few tips for avatar creating if you need anymore PM Personal Message a member like Injokester or Cheguevara you will know who can make you a quality avatar on this website when you have seen there work. Make quality comics which people enjoy not alot that only get 15 points. Don`t be a n00b. Look that up at www.wikipedia.com if you are not sure what it means or I am sure somebody else will tell you what that means on this site. When you join this site you will be a newb not a N00b there is a difference unless you act like an assjockey then obviously you are a n00b. A few Noobs: Andrewskywalker MUPPET3000 Pritty I`m sure other members will point you out too more. Blue bar is Normal Golden Your a Golden Gnomz, awesoume. And red power like MWLLKR (MenWhoLookLikeKennyRogers) You get points for commenting, posting and creating comics. These are only a few things i`m sure other members will help you out. Enjoy Gnomz. | Another thing you need to know, don't cover your profile with videos, because that bumps your comics off your profile, and that's the whole reason you are here, is to make comics. If not, you should leave, because that's what this site is all about. Also, videos on your profile is makes you a bandwidth hog. That's basically saying "I don't care about anyone else". It can also freeze someone's computer, and that isn't being respectful. I think trelkax shouldn't allow the use of Video Embed codes in profile quotes. So you can still put pictures and other HTML codes in there, just not videos. | ||

| Um, here's my addition: If you are only a few days to a week new, don't go down the list of comics voting every one bad. Especially if you plan on people liking you. At all. I know for a fact that a few new users just go down the list not voting on comics they like and downvoting comics they don't like/get/want to read all the way through. Another thing on voting. I've noticed that in some of the more prominent member's comics (this is especially true to grouchobeer's comics) a new user will leave a comment saying "Great comic ha ha ha!" accompanied by a 0 vote. If you want to leave a comment and not vote, you have to make two comments, then delete the first one. Or you can vote a 10, like your comment implies. To do that scroll down the little box under the comment box and pick ten, then submit the comment as normal. Also, if you pick a point number and don't leave a comment you'll vote anonymously. And if you have a comment and want to change your vote, you can just go to the number and change the vote instead of erasing and resubmitting the comment. On avatars: I just found this out, and as a fellow newbie want to share it with you~ Do NOT load a million custom avatars into your account in the span of two days. It's not the system that's approving them, it's an actual person. And having to redelete a bunch of unsuitable avatars probably sucks, especially if they come in very large quantities. Be considerate. That's all. You can all go home. | ||

| 47. Learn how to spell. We aren't going to talk to someone if they are going to talk IM speak. Another thing, capital letters don't really matter, I mean, look at pixel_artist, he never uses caps and people still like his comics. | ||

| If you're new, don't start a thread that says, "I'm New". We know. And not to put too fine a point on it, but we don't care if you're new or old. If you make smart, funny comics, you will be welcomed here. If you make inane comics, pointless forum threads, and trash comics that you don't understand while contributing absolutely nothing of value to the site, then you will not be welcomed here. | ||

| Yes. When you "Create a comic" under "Title" is "Theme". From that drop-down menu, choose "Draft". When you "Publish", the comic will be accessible to you under "My Comics" in the "My Space" section, but not to anyone else. You can also create a comic without signing in and email it to yourself or someone else. More people should use these options (richard, UnknownIndividual) | ||

| You can edit your comics after they are published and fix mistakes. Go to "My Comics" under "My Space" and click the title of the comic or the "Edit" on the same line (either works). If you hit the "Visualize" button before you publish a comic, when you publish the comic, it will have your default panel at the end (a blank panel with your two default avatars). You can of course delete this panel using the "Edit" option above. But you can always save a comic as a draft, and at the "My Comics" screen, hit "Visualize" and you can see the comic before it is published as it will appear. Then if you want to edit anything, you can. | ||

| Some people don't realize (and by people I mean Me_A_Piano) that if you plagiarize a comic (or as me_a_fuckingdumbass would say, "plagurize) someone could copy and paste one line of your comic into google and come up with something word-for-word matching your comic, but not your comic. | ||

| 95. You don't "need" a custom avatar. No one needs an avatar. You are a very poor writer and what you NEED to do is improve those skills first. Great avatars do not make great comics. This is a writing site. | ||

| A snippet of information many people should take into account is to try to comment on every comic you vote on, especially if it is a low vote. The comment box is there to tell the writer what he/she should try to improve on or what you liked most about their comic, and every mature writer wants to know what to improve on. I say especially 0, because People (Me at least) are left baffled when they get a 0 and dont know who It's from. It also gives people (Oh alright, Me!) uncertainty on WHY the 0 was given. It only leaves the writer in the dark, and doesn't help them on what to correct. So definetly try to comment on all your readings. | ||

When people join, they are referred to this forum, but many of them don't read it and they ask questions that have already been answered IN THIS VERY THREAD. | 124. It should be noted that if you press "Visualize", it creates an extra panel on your comic with a blank background and default characters. So don't do it. (Unless you want an extra panel on your comic with a blank background and default characters.) More below. "Send comics through email": Please use this option if you are making a comic for one person or a few people. Don't clutter our page with your dirty private laundry. "Publish" If you choose "Draft" under "Choose a theme", the comic will be saved when you press "Publish" but it will not be published. You may then press "Visualize" from the "My comics" screen and you can see EXACTLY how the comic will look before you publish it, and then you can edit it from the "My comics" screen. It will not publish until you change the theme. | ||

| Hi, I would like to add something, so everyone can spell correct. Yes I know Im not good speller but id like to help you, ok. If you have got "MSN" then do the following. Click "Hotmail" then click "New message" then write in the "Body of text box" what you want to spell i.e. Helo (Spelt wrong on purpose) then click "Tools" then click "Spell check" then about two or three words shall show up and above the words it should say "Change to" then on the left hand side of the words it should say "Suggestion" then words will show up i.e. hello, halo, you get the idea. Then click the word that you wanted to spell (Hello) then on the right hand side of the words (Not right by them but close) click "Ignore" If it's someone's user name on Gnomz and you know that you spelt it right. i.e Heartagram_666, Grouchobeer, yeah you get it. Click "Ignore all" If you typed in a user name on Gnomz or any other site that you know you've spelt right and you've used that name/word more than once then when you click it all of the times you've spelt that name will be ignored. Click "Add" If you would like to add this word to your dictonary i.e. Starmec, once you've added this word it will never show up as a spelling mistake again. Click "Change once" If you have only used this word once in your sentance/paragraph and you've spelt it wrong then use this. Click "Change All" It's like the "Change once" but it changes all of them, if you've spelt a word wrong and you've used that word more than once in your sentance/paragraph then it will change all of them. I hope this will help you, if there is another way please tell me. | ||

| To use French-side assets in English-side comics: 1. Start a comic on the English side. You can do as much or as little as you want, but it is easier to do as much as possible, even if you have to use the wrong backgrounds/avatars. 2. Save it as a draft. 3. Log in on the French side if you haven't done so. Go to "Mes BDs", add French avatars/backgrounds, select a theme, and publish. The comic will appear on the English side. | ||

Not only is this is a bad thing to do in general to someone who is trying to help you, but around here it'll get you banned quicker than you can say "antidisestablishmentariani--" | ||

| Posting a link in the comments section of your comic is not a substitute for a lucid, coherent comic and never has been. Comics should be self-contained, and a well-informed person should be able to understand them without reading a news article. I began the practice of posting a link to a news item because people assumed I was making up the premises of my comics, when I was not and would not. Comedy is not built upon other comedy. Comedy usually has to have a foot (or at least a toe) in some sort of reality. Therefore, the template for my news comic is writing a sentence in the first panel similar to a lead sentence in a news article, giving the who, what, where, when, and why. The second panel is often a pause, and the third panel is the punchline. Only then do I reference the news article in the comments. I may expect my readers to know 6000 years of Middle Eastern history or arcane Marx Bros. trivia, but I don't necessarily expect them to know something that just happened. The more obscure the news is, the more true this is (especially if you use an item from "Odd News" or something similar.) | ||

If you have some sort of agenda to advertise or are simply trying to send a message to one person, don't start a comic in which to post it. Spam comics will be deleted and repeat offenders will be banned. | ||

| 52. Welcome. Your comics can be about anything you want them to be. While you'll most likely find adventure or action based comics to be more difficult to pull off in the Gnomz format, it's always possible to try. The only things that aren't welcome in the comic section are plagiarism, spamming, or anything we obviously couldn't get away with allowing, like pornography. Other than that, you can publish anything you want here. | ||

| You can't. This is a glitch that should be noted in the "Gnomz news" thread. Until you have the sets memorized, you can make yourself a reference comic with all the sets and their names and save it as a draft. It will appear under "My comics". | ||
